Our MissionThe charism of the Institute of the Brothers of the Holy Family was born in the Church by the impulse of the Holy Spirit, n the person of Br. Gabriel Taborin. His life experience and evangelising activity is a constant source of inspiration and a precise indication for those of us who wish to share his project today. We all share, lay and religious, in the same mission, as much in the school as in the catechesis and liturgical animation. Nazareth is our model and our strength. We are called to update and to prolong the family dynamic of Nazareth in prayer, work and love.
CatechesisOur venerable Founder professes a great appreciation of catechesis. He writes: "There is no activity more beautiful, more honourable and more meritorious than that of the catechist, if it is exercised with faith...". Gabriel speaks from his own experience. Gabriel so highly appreciated this ecclesial service that he solicited and obtained from Pope Gregory XVI the title of "apostolic catechist".
Our educational centres, as far as possible, promote the creation of groups to penetrate ever more deeply in the faith and catechumenal groups. In these the experience of the faith matures and the needs of each young person are responded to. The catechumenates of the Eucharist and Confirmation are considered as moments of exceptional educational and catechetical value. |
Education The School of the Institute of the Holy Family Brothers joyfully share the evangelising mission of the Church and wish to be privileged places of Christian education, responding to the present challenges with faith, love and creativity.
As Christian Educators we are: - Mediators between the Christian message and the person being educated. - Mediators in the faith-culture dialogue. - Mediators between the Christian community and the young people. The family is the natural place where the child begins to relate with others, with himself, with nature and with God. More than a centre that teaches, it is a womb that transmits by osmosis: lifestyles, behaviours, attitudes, values. Liturgical AnimationBr. Gabriel's whole life is deeply marked by the living of the liturgy.
In his apostolic activity, liturgical animation occupies an important place along with Christian education and catechesis. He especially loved to prepare the children to participate fully for the first time in the Eucharist. For our pupils and catechesis groups to be able more profoundly to live the sacraments, we help them to: - Read the gestures, the material elements and the rites that we employ, so that they may discover and appreciate the symbols. - Participate actively with gestures and words, and also with contemplation and silence. |
